User Roles
The hierarchy for users in the Imago Portal is defined with ‘Roles’. There are 4 Roles:
- Subscription Owner
- Has access to all Workspaces.
- Create, edit and delete content.
- Create and assign roles.
- Owner (Administrator)
- Has access to Workspace(s) to which user is assigned.
- Create and delete content within the assigned Workspace(s).
- Create and assign roles.
- Collaborator
- Create and edit content but not delete content.
- Viewer
- View content only. Cannot create, delete or edit content.
- View content only. Cannot create, delete or edit content.
Creating Users
When your logged into the Portal move the mouse to top right of the screen and click your username, a dropdown menu will appear – click ‘My Workspaces’ or 'My Account'.
In User Management select Create User to make a new user for the subscription. This will bring up the interface to describe the user’s Name, Username, Email and Password then click ‘save’.

Creating Workspaces, Datasets and Assigning Users
To create a workspace, go to the Workspace Tab and enter a name at the bottom of the page under “Enter the name below to add a workspace.” Press [Enter]/[Return] to generate the Workspace.
Inside the Workspace you must enter a dataset name.
Inside the dataset just created we put in the Image Types we will be using in Capture X.
To assign Users to this Workspace, go back to this Workspace's page.
Then click the 'User Permissions' button at the bottom of that Workspace page.
Click the plus (+) symbol to add users to a Workspace.
Select the contributor Icon so that this user will be able to Upload and Edit in this Workspace.
Creating Profiles and Assigning Users
Profiles are used for defining various aspects of an image capture workflow. From interval incrementation, to image quality and camera options - using a profile you can define all the factors you need for your Capture X process.
Create a new profile by selecting the 'Profile' tab and entering a name in the empty/grey text field with "New profile name".
After the profile is created click on it to begin defining its workflow and user management. Once selected you should see an empty profile screen like this, notes attached for providing context.
For the profile to work with any user besides the admin, those users will need to be assigned under ‘User Permissions’, at the bottom of your selected profile click ‘User Permissions’.
Just like we did for Workspace, we will have to move unassigned users to the Assigned user column. Click the + symbol next to the name of the user you wish to assign a role for this profile.
